This is the stage that determines the quality of everything that follows — an out-of-plumb partition or an uneven screed is paid for later, during the finishing.

Load-bearing walls: engineer first, permit second
Touching a load-bearing wall is never a decision taken on site. In Switzerland a structural alteration requires a civil engineer, who calculates the load transfer and signs the drawings. Depending on the scope and the municipality a building permit may also be needed — and it almost always is once the facade or the volume changes.
We tell you at the site visit whether your project is a simple partition or a structural alteration, and we work to the engineer's approved drawings.
How we work
We build to drawings, with geometry checked at every stage: levels, plumb, squareness. The timescales we quote account for the real drying times of screeds and renders, which cannot be compressed. Protecting the common areas and removing debris are part of the quotation, not extras.
Because finishing, electrics and plumbing come from the same company, the handover from structural to fit-out work loses no time to coordination.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take down a wall in my flat?
Only after checking whether it is load-bearing. If it is, a civil engineer is required and, depending on the case, a permit; we make that assessment at the site visit.
How long before flooring can be laid on a screed?
Drying depends on the thickness and type of screed; we measure residual moisture before starting the finishes rather than following a nominal delay.
Do you remove the debris?
Yes, removal and sorting at the waste facility are included in the quotation.
Do you work in older buildings?
Yes. The older stock in Geneva and Lausanne calls for careful underpinning and particular attention to timber floors; it is a context we know well.
